Milk Lake Introduction: Milk Lake is actually not a freshwater lake, but a small sea area between many small islands. Due to the topography, it looks like a lake. Because Palau's seawater is extremely transparent, the volcanic mud deposited at the bottom of the lake makes the seawater blue-green with a bit of milky white. In addition, the white volcanic mud at the bottom of the lake looks like milk, so it is called Milk Lake. Although the surrounding volcanic activity has been suspended, submarine hot springs still seep from the bottom of the lake, giving the water of Milk Lake a light sulfur smell.
