Introduction to Bakheng Temple: Phnom Bakheng Temple (Phnom Bakheng) is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva in the ancient ruins of Angkor, Cambodia. It was built in the 9th century after King Yasovarman I of the Angkor Dynasty established the capital of Angkor. The temple built on Bakken Mountain is also the center of the first capital built by the Khmer Dynasty when it moved its capital to Angkor, and is known as the "First Angkor".
