Introduction to Bai Juyi: In the middle of the pavilion, there stands a white marble statue of Bai Juyi. Bai Juyi (772-846), courtesy name Lotte and Xiangshan Jushi, was a great realist poet in the Tang Dynasty and one of the three major poets in the Tang Dynasty. One autumn night in the 11th year of Tang Yuanhe (816), Sima Bai Juyi of Jiangzhou was seeing off his guests at the head of the Xunyang River. Suddenly, he heard the affectionate and plaintive sound of pipa coming from a neighboring ship, which was touching. He moved the boat to meet her, and she turned out to be a singing prostitute from the capital. Bai Juyi prepared wine and food again, and asked the woman to play a song and listen to the wonderful sound. In describing her life experience, she learned that "the boss of the geisha married a merchant woman" and "came to the mouth of the river to guard empty ships." Bai Juyi also associated the unfortunate life experience of the Pipa girl with his own ups and downs. He had mixed feelings, and then the poem followed his emotions and he wrote the eternal masterpiece "Pipa Xing".
