Introduction to the Solitary Room: The No. 18 Solitary Room in the basement of the Death Building is specially used to hold prisoners sentenced to death by starvation. The Polish priest Kolbe was imprisoned in this solitary cell after he decided to die in his place to save the life of another prisoner.
