Introduction to cultural heritage: In 1979, UNESCO included the Auschwitz Concentration Camp in the World Cultural Heritage List to warn the world to "want peace, not war." In order to witness this period of history, hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life from all over the world visit the site every year to pay homage to the innocent people who were persecuted to death by the German Nazis.
