Introduction to the main entrance: Auschwitz Gate I is the main gate of the entire site and the original concentration camp. It serves as the management center of the entire Auschwitz area concentration camp. Approximately 70,000 Polish intellectuals, resistance members, "antisocial elements", homosexuals and Soviet prisoners of war were murdered here. Military economic enterprises serving the German army are also located here. The slogan "Arbeit macht frei" (Work for freedom) is written on the gate, giving people who come here light and hope, but they never expect that they will never leave here.
