Introduction to the Barbican: The Kraków Barbican is a defensive outpost that was once connected to the city walls. As an important passage to the Old City in history, it is one of the only remaining remains of the complex defensive fortress surrounding the Old City. Wengcheng was built around 1498. It is a cylindrical brick structure and is adjacent to the moat. The courtyard in the middle is 24.4 meters in diameter, has 7 forts, and a total of 130 cannon holes on the 3-meter-thick wall.
