Introduction to Týnem Church: Týnem Church (Kostel Matky Boží před Týnem) is the oldest and most eye-catching Gothic building in the Old Town Square. The church was first built in 1135. The building you see now is It was built in 1365 and is famous for its Gothic twin towers. The top is decorated with pure gold rods and the total height is about 80 meters. Because the shape of the church resembles the Devil's Castle in fairy tales, it is also vividly called "Devil's Church".
Although Tyn Church has become a familiar name to most people, in fact the original name of this church was "Church of the Virgin Mary in front of Tyn (Inland Revenue)". Tyn Church played the role of Prague from the 15th to the early 17th century. It played an important role in the Reformation and was the main gathering place of the Hussites.
