Introduction to Xiang Bolin: Lotus Peak has always been a holy place for Buddhism. Nunneries and temples have been built here since the Northern Song Dynasty. There are seven lotus ponds under the peak as life-release ponds, which are shaped like seven lotuses sitting on Guanyin, which is very spectacular. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the Lotus Peak Buddha Land was in decline. By the early years of the Republic of China, the temple was destroyed and the Free Life Pond turned into a swamp. In the early 1970s, forestry workers dug ditches on the "Lotus Pond" for drainage and planted cedar trees. This formed the lush cedar forest today. Walking there feels like stepping on a soft carpet, which feels very comfortable.
