Introduction to Ming Dynasty stone lions: There is a pair of beautifully carved stone lions standing in front of the gate of Zhanshan Temple, which are precious sculptures from the Northern Wei Dynasty. This pair of lions were originally located beside the gate of Prince Yiduheng's Mansion in the Ming Dynasty. They were plundered by the Germans when they were building the Jiaoji Railway in Qingdao. In 1934, Ge Xianting, chairman of the Jiaoji Railway Committee, presented it to Zhanshan Temple. During the Cultural Revolution, both stone lions were damaged. When Zhanshan Temple was restored in 1984, the stone lions were also restored.
