Introduction to the Kangxi Imperial Monument: In the 23rd year of Kangxi (1684), Emperor Kangxi came here and built the Imperial Monument in the Cultivation Palace. It was later destroyed during the "Cultural Revolution" and rebuilt in June 1997. The subsequent Emperor Qianlong also had a special liking for Quanlin. He stayed there nine times and built a palace. He left more than 150 poems praising Quanlin.
