Introduction to George Enescu: The George Enescu Memorial Hall was originally called the Grigore Cantacuzino Palace. It was established in 1913 by the nobleman Grigore Cantacuzino. Inherited by his son Mihai and his wife. After Michael's death, his widow became the owner of the palace. In 1937, she remarried Romanian musician Giorgio Enescu. From 1945 to 1946, the couple lived a frugal life, living behind the palace and managing the house. They also converted the palace into a music museum with beautifully decorated interiors.
