Introduction to Andrew Hall: St. Andrea's Hall (Andreassaal) is adjacent to the Alexander Hall and is also located on the south side of the upper floor of the palace. Peter the Great decorated the hall in 1698, with blue and gold as the main tones. Here one can see blue enamel, the Cross of St. Andrew, and illustrations of the coats of arms of the provinces of the Tsarist Empire.
During 1934, the partition between St. Andrew's Hall and Alexander Hall was demolished and merged into a new conference hall with a capacity of more than 2,500 people. In the 1990s, the two halls were restored to their original appearance, and in 2000, 2004 and 2008 The inauguration ceremonies of Russian presidents (Putin and Medvedev in 2000, 2004, and 2008) were held in this hall.
