Introduction to the Armory: The Kremlin Arsenal is located in the west corner of the palace. It was built by Peter the Great in 1702. It is not only a weapons warehouse, but also used to collect ancient weapons and various trophies. After Napoleon was defeated and withdrew from Russia in 1812, the Russian army collected dozens of captured iron cannons here. The Armory Museum now serves as a weapons museum, collecting ancient Russian shields, swords and other weapons.
