Introduction to Sea Shell House: Casa de las Conchas, commonly known as "Sea Shell House", was built in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. It is one of the buildings that best embodies Spanish Gothic civilization. Its name comes from the pilgrim's emblem - the shell pattern that decorates the facade. This was once the home of the Knights who protected the pilgrims of Santiago, and the shell was the symbol of the Knights at that time. Now, it has been converted into a visitor center and public library.
