Introduction to China Merchants Building: China Merchants Building, as China’s first new-type steamship enterprise operated by itself, China Merchants Building was founded during this period. The China Merchants Bureau was built in 1901. The building is a three-story brick and wood structure facing west to east. The main door frame on the ground floor extends outwards. There are tall arched floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides of the main door. The second and third floor facades are decorated with classical columns. Some of the exterior walls of the building are veneered with granite. The China Merchants Building can be regarded as a typical example of Bund architecture in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Whether it is historical or artistic, it is worth visiting. The building is located at No. 9, Zhongshan East 1st Road.
