Introduction to the Verandah Hall: The Verandah Hall is a side hall of Dacheng Hall. In the past, it was a place to worship the seventy-two sages of Confucius students and great Confucians of the past dynasties. Now it displays 300 couplets written by 180 famous calligraphers of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, including those from the Qing Dynasty. The imperial letters of emperors Kangxi, Yongzheng, and Qianlong include the handwritings of national heroes Shi Kefa and Lin Zexu, as well as the calligraphy of Badashanren, the Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou, and Jiangnan talents, which have high literary and artistic value.
