Introduction to Plum Garden: Yin Bongji (1908~1932), a Korean expatriate, came to Shanghai in 1930 and made a living selling vegetables in the Hongkou area. Yin Bongji participated in the anti-Japanese struggle under the leadership of Kim Gu, a famous Korean patriot. When he learned that the Japanese invaders were preparing to hold a grand "Tianchang Festival" celebration in Hongkou Park (today's Lu Xun Park), Yin insisted on going to the scene to bomb the enemy and sacrifice his life to serve the country. A plum pavilion was built at the memorial site for Yin Fengji's righteousness in Lu Xun Park, with a tree and stone tablet.
