Introduction to the Chinese Archway: The Chinese Archway is the "treasure of the museum" of the Tushanwan Museum. It was carved in 1912 by German architect Ge Chengliang (Alousius Beck 1853-1931) and a dozen orphans from the Tushanwan Orphanage. It is 5.8 meters high and 5.2 meters wide. It is a pavilion-style archway with four pillars and three bays. It has the words "Gongzhao Sun and Moon" in front and a gold plaque inscribed with "Virtue Merges Mountains and Rivers" in the back. The Chinese Archway has participated in three World Expos, and has circled the globe before returning to its hometown.
