Introduction to the Orangutan Museum: Chimpanzees belong to the class Mammalia, order primates, and family Orangutans, and mainly live in Guinea, Uganda, and Tanzania. The chimpanzee's genus name "Pan" means "God of the Forest". There are two types of chimpanzees, the chimpanzees that live north of the Congo River and the bonobos that live south of the Congo River. The Orangutan Hall of Shanghai Wildlife Park was built in September 2001 and currently houses 2 male, 1 female and 3 chimpanzees.
