Introduction to earthen drums: The origin of earthen drums in Taosi Temple was to knock stone tools to add excitement to dances. After entering the pottery age, people could use clay to make "earth drums" and use kui grass to make drums. It is beaten with a mallet and is called a drum. Therefore, "Yi Xici" has "drums with thunder". There are 6 earthen drums unearthed from the Taosi site. The drum belly is nearly spherical or oval-shaped, and is connected to a cylindrical neck, which looks like a long-necked gourd as a whole. The earth drum is 80.4cm in height, 25.6cm in diameter at the top, and 41cm in maximum abdominal diameter.
