Introduction to the Wenwu Stone Statues: The Wenwu Stone Statues are relics of the Shinto stone statues from Ding Shimei’s tomb. Ding Shimei (1521~1577), whose courtesy name was Bangyan and nicknamed Houxi, was the number one scholar in Jiweike (1559) in the 38th year of Jiajing reign of Emperor Shizong of the Ming Dynasty. He once took charge of the affairs of the Hanlin Academy and served as an examiner. His impartial and unselfish character was loved by the world. Later, he died due to excessive grief due to his father's death.
