Introduction to Mao’s Ancestral Hall: The former site of Shaoshan Farmers’ Night School is located in the Mao’s Ancestral Hall, the main ancestral hall of the Mao family in Shaoshan. The building of Mao's Ancestral Hall is a brick and wood structure with blue bricks and blue tiles. The building area is about 700 square meters and is divided into three parts: theater building, middle hall and "Dunben Hall".
From early spring to mid-autumn of 1925, when Mao Zedong and his wife Yang Kaihui returned to Shaoshan to launch the peasant movement, they used the classrooms of the clan school to open a peasant evening school. This was the earliest peasant evening school in Shaoshan.
