Legend has it that the Jingou River was not originally called Jingou River. At that time, there was a landlord in Bajiahu Village, West Gobi Town, not far from the river bank. The landlord had a daughter named Yingna. The beautiful Yingna fell in love with the hardworking and kind-hearted poor boy Ba. Da and married her despite the opposition of her parents, she only received a cow as a dowry. After the two spend some hard time in the mountains, their well-cared for cattle suddenly start pulling gold, allowing them to live a happy life and help those in need. After learning the news, Yingna's parents called in thugs to snatch the cow. Bada was beaten to death and the golden cow disappeared in the chaos. Inna lay on her lover's body and cried bitterly for seven days and seven nights, and died in grief. Seven days later, the bodies of Inna and Bada disappeared, but hot springs suddenly emerged in the mountains. The current Jingou River and hot springs were formed by Inna's tears.
