Introduction to the Giant Buddha: The Giant Buddha of Guangyou Temple is currently the tallest and largest wooden seated Buddha statue of Sakyamuni Buddha in the world. The Buddha statue is made of gold and has a simple, dignified, peaceful and solemn shape. Its total height is 21.48 meters, "21" means the 21st century, and "48" means the birth anniversary of Buddha on the eighth day of April. The Xumizuo of the Buddha statue is 4.48 meters high and is engraved with the "Drawing of the Origin of the Dharma Realm" and "The Transformation Deeds of Sakyamuni Tathagata". The Buddha is 17 meters tall and sits on a repeated lotus pedestal. His right hand is raised and he holds a golden balā flower to show the Dharma Eye. His left hand is tied with a head seal to show that the Buddha's compassion and kindness are spread throughout the Dharma Realm.
