Introduction to the Viceregal Residence: The Viceregal Lodge (Viceregal Lodge) was built in 1888 under the command of Duke Du Fuyin. It is a majestic British Raj-style palace-like mansion located on a hilltop in Shimla. On the north, east and south sides, it is surrounded by neatly manicured British-style gardens and lawns. On the west side is an open space where you can leisurely sit and watch the sunset over the foothills of the Himalayas.
