Shimla Railway Station Introduction: The narrow gauge railway line from Garga to Shimla began operations in 1903. It was initially built by a private company and was acquired by the state government in 1906 at a cost of 17, 107,748 rupees. The train has to pass through 102 tunnels, 988 bridges, and 917 turns on this 96-kilometer-long route. Although the speed is relatively slow, the scenery along the way is beautiful.
