Introduction to Kawai Shrine: The torii gate on the west side of the approach to the Gesu Forest is the Shōsha Kawai Shrine. The quiet main shrine of the shrine is described in the Hojoki as "the flowing water is endless, pure and free of impurities." This poem is reproduced in this shrine.
