Introduction to the North Tower: The North Tower is located on the east bank of the Longchuan River about one kilometer downstream of Qiling Bridge. It was first built in the 38th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1610 AD). It has been rebuilt many times in history and is built on the side of the tower. There is a temple used to maintain the North Pagoda, also called the Beita Temple. It is surrounded by whirling ancient trees and has an elegant and quiet environment. It was once named "Beita Linjiang", one of the eight scenic spots in Fucheng.
The North Tower is octagonal and 28 meters high. The base and first level of the tower are made of stone, with a diameter of ten meters and an inner space of seven meters. The gate of the pagoda faces south, and the four characters "mainstay" are engraved vertically on the stone forehead; the second to seventh levels are made of green bricks, with a six-sided mountain-style green tube tile roof, and a gourd-shaped tin vase on the top of the tower with a length of more than one meter inserted in the middle. There are three iron halberds in the tower; there is a wooden ladder that rotates directly to the top of the tower for people to overlook and stretch their feelings; in the middle of the tower is the Kuixing tablet, with Zhuge Liang's tablet on the left and Li Bai's tablet on the right. It is said that both of them have been to Shiqian.
