Introduction to Ninety-Nine Roads: Ninety-nine Roads starts from Lingxiao Pavilion and ends at Shouxing Bridge. They are one turn after another, one slope after another. Looking at the end of one slope, there is a sudden twist and turn, and there is another slope. Mount Emei is famous for its dangerous slopes.
Legend has it that when Samantabhadra came to Mount Emei to build a Taoist temple, when he passed by this place, he saw that the mountains here were high, the slopes were slippery and dangerous, so he instructed the Lingzu Bodhisattva to command the three thousand strong men accompanying him to start at the same time, and each of them practiced the first level. steps. Three thousand stone steps were formed in an instant. When Lingzu was inspecting them, he counted them and found that there were ninety-nine turns on the stone steps. This is how the slope got its name.
