Introduction to Peter and Paul Cathedral: Peter and Paul Cathedral is the most famous building in the Peter and Paul Fortress complex. It was built in 1703 and was originally made of wood. It was converted into a stone cathedral on the original site from 1712 to 1733. It is an early Russian Baroque cathedral. The church has a solemn appearance and rich interior decoration, including copper-plated chandeliers and colored crystal chandeliers. The inner walls of the church are decorated with 43 exquisitely carved wood sculptures. The bell tower of the cathedral is 122 meters high. By the middle of this century, it was the tallest building in the city. The angel statue on the spire of the bell tower is 3.2 meters high, the statue's wings extend 3.8 meters, and the cross on the statue's head is 6.4 meters high. The glittering golden spiers of the tower pierce the blue sky, and the scenery is very charming. Next to the church there is a small pavilion, decorated with columns and a statue of the goddess of navigation, which is a boathouse that preserves one of Peter the Great's boats.
