Introduction to the Lower Garden: The garden is adjacent to the Grand Palace and unfolds in a fan shape towards the Gulf of Finland. It is divided into two symmetrical parts, east and west, bounded by the sea canal in front of the Grand Palace. In order to enhance the cooling effect, Peter the Great specially installed large and small interesting and spectacular fountains in the park.
