Introduction to the Kuo Yuan: The East Corridor Courtyard and the West Kuo Yuan, which are matched with the Qianlong Palace, are the affiliated courtyards of the East and West Palaces and are located on the transverse axis of the palace. There are more than 20 monk rooms and studios (also called imperial dining rooms) in the east corridor courtyard, and more than 20 study rooms and living rooms (also called imperial study rooms) in the west corridor courtyard. All buildings are structurally symmetrical and have the same shape. Both corridors have imperial gardens to the south, with pavilions, terraces, buildings, pavilions, small bridges and flowing water; there are peonies, peonies, plum blossoms, orchids, and exotic flowers that are fragrant all year round.
