Introduction to the Beisi Pagoda: The North Pagoda Baoen Temple was built in the Chiwu Period of the Three Kingdoms (238-251). It was built by Sun Quan for his wet nurse Chen, and was originally called Tongxuan Temple. During the Xiande period of the Northern Zhou Dynasty in the Five Dynasties (AD 954-959), Buddhism had four virtues (Buddha, parents, teachers, and land), so it was named Baoen Temple.
