Introduction to the Si Dian Wu Temple: The Si Dian Wu Temple was built in the Ming and Zheng dynasties and is the belief center of Guan Gong, the martial saint of this province. The temple was originally dedicated to both Yue Fei and Guan Gong. After the Qing Dynasty conquered Taiwan, it was gradually changed to worship Guan Gong. Later, three generations of Guan emperors were honored and the main temple gate was rebuilt. It was also promoted to an official temple to worship Dian Wu, so it was named Sa Dian Wu Temple. Although the Dianwu Temple no longer held official ceremonies during the Japanese rule, it was still the center of worship for Guan Gong, the martial sage in Taiwan. The Ministry of the Interior listed it as a national first-class historic site in 1983.
