Introduction to the Temple of the Five Sages: The Temple of the Five Sages is located northwest of Puzhao Temple in Mount Tai, Shandong. To the east of the temple is Toushu Stream, and to the west is Xiangshui Valley. The streams circulate and there are many mountains and rocks. Zhou Pu of the Tang Dynasty founded Qizhen Temple here. Scholars Sun Fu and Shi Jie of the Northern Song Dynasty built Taishan Academy here. The Neo-Confucian scholar Hu Yuan once visited here. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, a temple was built here to honor Mr. Sun and Mr. Shi Er, with the inscription "Yangde Hall". Later, it was added to honor Hu Yuan, and it was called the Sanxian Temple. When Xu Zongqian renovated it during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, he added sacrifices to Song Tao and Zhao Guolin, so it was renamed the Five Sages Temple.
