Sydney Rocks Travel Guide: St. Patrick’s Church

Introduction to St. Patrick's Church: St. Patrick`s church was built in 1844 and is a chapel for Irish Catholics. The English were generally Protestant, while the prisoners at the Rocks during the colonial period were mainly Catholic Irish. In the early days of the establishment of the colony, the contradiction between these two groups of people was very sharp, and this church probably became a place to ease the contradiction.
