Introduction to Basongcuo: Basongcuo is also known as Cuogao Lake, which means "green water" in Tibetan. The lake has an altitude of more than 3,700 meters and a water area of ​​more than 6,000 acres. It is located in a high gorge and deep valley in the upper reaches of the Ba River, 50 kilometers away from Gongbujiangda County, Nyingchi Prefecture. It is a famous sacred lake and holy place of the Red Sect. The lake is crystal clear and surrounded by snow-capped mountains. It is like a piece of jasper inlaid in a mountain canyon. It is quiet and charming without losing the atmosphere. About 100 meters away from the shore of Basongcuo Lake, there is an island in the middle of the lake called "Tashi Island". On the 15th day of the fourth month of the Tibetan calendar, local people begin to walk around Basongtso Lake on the path around the lake. It usually takes two days to go around the lake. You need to prepare your own food and accommodation, and you often have to wade through water. You can imagine how difficult it is.
Transportation to Basongcuo Scenic Area:

If you go there by car, get off at the fork where you will see the "Basong Co Scenic Area" sign on the side of the road, then cross the Bahe Bridge and go north for about 40 kilometers to reach the Basong Co Lake.
(Chartered car, self-driving to Basongcuo) Chartering a car to go to Basongcuo is most suitable in Bayi Town. Bayi Town is 120 kilometers away from Basongcuo, and the round trip cost by jeep from Beijing is about 500 yuan/car. If you miss the night in Bassong, you will need to pay for the driver’s food and lodging. From Lhasa, it takes 4 hours to reach Basongcuo. The whole journey is about 360 kilometers, all of which are asphalt roads. The black road from Bahe to the resort has also been repaired. It may be regarded as the best road in the Tibet section of the Sichuan-Tibet Line. The only section where you need to drive carefully is the Mira Pass, which is more than 5,000 meters above sea level. Renting a car from Lhasa costs about 2,600 yuan for a round trip, and a tourist shuttle bus costs about 240 yuan for a round trip. It passes through Mira Pass and Gongbu Jangda County, and then walks about 90 kilometers to reach Basongcuo. If you are taking the Sichuan-Tibet Line from Chengdu, you can also rent a car from Bayi Town, where the Linzhi County Government is located, to Basongcuo (the total journey is about 128 kilometers), and the round trip costs about 320 yuan.
