Introduction to Cuozong Gongba Temple: There is a temple of the Nyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism on Tashi Island, Cuozong Gongba Temple. Although Cuozong Temple is not big, it is quite old. It is said to have been built in the late Tang Dynasty, that is, during the Tubo Dynasty. This time does almost coincide with the origin of Nyingma teachings. During the reign of Tubo Zanpu Trisong Detsen, he invited Master Padmasambhava from India and started various measures to promote Buddhism. Academic circles classified this period as the pre-propagation period of Tibetan Buddhism. Later Tubo Buddhism naturally followed the path of combining Buddhism and benzene formulated by Master Padmasambhava. The origins of the Nyingma sect can be traced back to Tubo Buddhism, which absorbed Tibetan native Bon religion. Nyingma means "ancient" or "old" in Tibetan, which shows its long inheritance. Understanding this background, we can understand some of the distinctive features of Cuozong Gongba Temple and its surroundings.
