Ski resort introduction: There are two major ski resorts in Mount Ruapehu - Whakapapa and Turoa. Visitors can enjoy a wonderful skiing and snowboarding experience. For non-skiers, there are tobogganing and tubing options, or just hike up to enjoy the stunning views. The ski season usually begins in July and ends in late spring.
