According to relevant historical records, the establishment of temples in Xiangshan began in Qin Qin (351-394 AD) and flourished in Yao Qin. It was here that Kumarajiva, the eminent monk of Kucha, translated the Sanskrit Sutra. During the Yongxi period of the Song Dynasty (AD 984-987), the Fengqi Feng Cave was repaired, and the Shengguoyuan and Baique Temple were built. During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, more than 90 pavilions and pavilions of various types were built.
