Introduction to St. George's Cathedral: St George's Cathedral is a Baroque and Rococo style building built on St. George's Hill and completed in 1761. On the left side of the church is a statue of the Virgin Mary, who is said to have shed tears during the two sieges of the city by the Turks in 1663 and the Swedes in 1704.
