Introduction to the Garhanet Museum: The Garhanet Museum is one of the most important art museums in Aix and even in southern France. It has a collection of Italian, Flemish and French oil paintings from the 16th to the 20th century, including The museum’s treasure—8 works by Cézanne. The museum building was built in 1670 and was originally the prayer hall of the Knights of Malta. After 1828, it was converted into an art school. Later, the painter Gehane donated all his works and collections here.
