Introduction to Berat: Berat was built in the fourth century BC and has been inhabited since the Bronze Age more than 4,000 years ago. It is an ancient strategic location. It was included in the World Heritage List by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2008.
