Introduction to the Jinshi inscription stele: There are 198 Jinshi inscription stelae in the Confucius Temple in Beijing, recording the names, place of origin and ranking of 51,624 Jinshi scholars in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Jinshi inscriptions began with inscriptions on wild goose pagodas in the Tang Dynasty. It is said that when Wei Zhao reached his rank, he occasionally inscribed names on temples and pagodas, and later generations followed suit.
