Introduction to the Queen's Sculpture: Maria Theresa (1717-1780) was the daughter of King Karl VI of Austria, because Karl VI did not leave a male heir when he died. The 23-year-old Maria Teresa was crowned Empress of the Holy Roman Empire of Habsburg Germany in 1704 AD and Queen of Hungary. At the beginning of her accession to the throne, the Queen immediately faced provocations from France, Prussia, Bavaria and other countries around her, and finally secured her position after fighting two tough battles.
Her husband Franz Stephen was elected Holy Roman Emperor in 1745, and Teresa became Archduchess of Austria and Queen of Hungary and Bohemia. Queen Maria Theresa had a famous saying: "It is better to have a moderate peace than a glorious war." During her forty years in power, she reorganized the administrative system and implemented a series of policies to promote commerce and popularize education. Policies, some of which are still used today, laid the foundation for Austria for generations to come. During the reign of the Empress, Austria's finance and trade entered an era of unprecedented prosperity. Music, painting and art also took root in Austria, becoming a world-famous country of music.
