Introduction to Jugen Pass: The most famous section of the Xianyu Ancient Hui Road is Jugen Ridge. During the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty, Zeng Guofan, the governor of Liangjiang, built a 14-kilometer-long stone Great Wall to defend against the Taiping Army. A section of the stone Great Wall is located in the Zegen Ridge of Xianyu Mountain. It crosses the ancient Hui Road, so it is called Zegen Pass. This pass is 900 meters above sea level. The terrain is dangerous and easy to defend but difficult to attack. It is a battleground for military strategists. The Hunan Army and the Taiping Army led by Zeng Guofan have fought many times in this area.
