Introduction to the Fourth Generation and First Rank Arch: The "Fourth Generation and First Rank" arch stands in front of the Cao family's ancestral hall at the head of the village. It is more majestic than the Zhongcheng Arch. It is an archway built to highlight Cao Wenxi.
In fact, Cao Wenwen's ancestors were all salt merchants and had never been a first-rank official. However, firstly, Wenwen was deeply favored by Qianlong; secondly, Qianlong's six southern tours were sponsored by Huizhou merchants. The emperor was very happy and Wenwen's father , grandfather and great-grandfather all "surprise promotion" and were all granted false titles of first rank. Therefore, this rare "four generations and first rank" fame and fame house was successfully and legitimately born, becoming the pinnacle monument in the history of the Cao family.
