Introduction to Ayding Lake: Ayding Lake is a large salt lake in the center of Turpan Basin and adjacent to brackish to saltwater swamps. The water source comes from many artificial underground rivers (Kaner wells) in the surrounding mountains and Bogda Mountain in the north (main peak 5,445 meters). The Turpan Basin (approximately 350,000 hectares) is below sea level and is the second-lowest land in the world. It includes approximately 200,000 hectares of salt desert and a large desert to the east. Just south of the center of the basin, it is the lowest place in China, with an altitude of -155 meters. It is the second lowest land in the world after the Dead Sea in Jordan (-391 meters). Area 18,000 hectares. As the lake water continues to evaporate, most of the lake surface has turned into a deep layer of salt. Aydin Lake, also known as Jueluohuan, has an altitude of -155 meters, making it the lowest lake in my country. Ayding Lake means Moonlight Lake in Uyghur and is named after the lake, which is as bright and beautiful as the moonlight. It is located 30km southeast of Turpan City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, at the lowest point in the Turpan Basin.
