Introduction to Uji Bridge: The Uji Bridge spanning both sides of the Uji River is a majestic and beautiful purely Japanese-style bridge with a total length of 153 meters. It was built in the second year of Dahua and is the oldest existing bridge in Japan. Uji Hashihime is the guardian deity of the long bridge. The ancient Japanese believed that the connection between one end of the bridge and the other end symbolized the path from this world to the next. Therefore, the bridge has always been regarded as the destination of the soul.
